After becoming board certified, dermatologists begin the Continuing Certification Program, which supports lifelong learning. Nearly all of the ABD’s Continuing Certification Program is done through our assessment tool, CertLink.
To provide a no-stakes preview, second and third year residents are invited to participate in CertLink.
In CertLink, participants receive 13 questions per quarter. They have 10 minutes to answer each one and may use resources. Immediate feedback is given along with an explanation of the correct answer. Questions may be answered one at a time or all in one sitting.
Important details about CertLink during residency:
- Participation during residency is completely voluntary
- Performance will be purely informational (pass/fail not calculated)
- Results will not be shared with the residency program
- Participation typically involves 1- to 2 hours each quarter
- Opt-out without penalty
- CertLink should NOT be considered preparation for the CORE or APPLIED exams
- Performance will be purely informational (pass/fail not calculated)
We provide this early access to CertLink to make ABD’s Continuing Certification program more transparent and less anxiety-provoking. Many dermatologists tell us they find the questions interesting – even fun.
