I am in a fellowship and my ABD certification status is 'Pending' because I did not have a full medical license when I passed the APPLIED Exam. Will I qualify for ABD subspecialty certification if my certification status is still 'Pending' at the end of my fellowship?

No. Your ABD certification status must be 'Active-Certified' in order to qualify for an ABD Subspecialty Exam. A full, valid and unrestricted medical license in a state or jurisdiction of the United States or Canada is required for ABD certification.  When you register for an ABD Subspecialty Exam, you must provide proof of proper licensure.  Without a qualifying license, you may not sit for the subspecialty certification exam after fellowship.
