Do diplomates participating in CertLink earn any additional credits?
Yes! CertLink participation provides both CME and continuing certification self-assessment credits.
Each calendar year, diplomates can earn up to a maximum of 15 category 1 CME credits:
- Diplomates with complete participation in 3 or 4 quarters will earn 15 CME credits.
- Diplomates with complete participation in 2 quarters will earn 7 CME credits.
- Diplomates with complete participation in 1 quarter will earn 3.5 CME credits.
"Complete participation" in a quarter entails answering all assigned questions. At the end of the year, the ABD will provide the AMA with the list of diplomates actively participating in CertLink. The AMA will issue CME credits shortly after the year ends. Once the AMA issues the credits in January, the ABD will document the credit on the CCP table for diplomates under the year during which the credit was earned. Example: The CME credits earned for completing the 2024 CertLink assessment will be documented under the 2024 column on the diplomate's CCP table.
The ABD will reward diplomates 1 continuing certification self-assessment credit for each CertLink question answered. Credits are posted to continuing certification tables quarterly.
