Are candidates required to have a full medical license in the US or Canada to be eligible to take the APPLIED Exam?
Yes, when a candidate registers for the ABD’s APPLIED Exam, they will be required to provide proof of a full and unrestricted medical license in a state or jurisdiction of the United States or Canada, OR evidence of an application in-progress for a medical license. However, candidates entering an ACGME-accredited fellowship program and working under an institutional license, may delay getting their license. A valid, unrestricted license is required to sit for the subspecialty certification exam after fellowship.
