Expanded Access to Journal Articles through CertLink

ABD diplomates participating in CertLink will now have access to all journal articles used for CertLink Article-Based questions, not just the ones based on the questions you chose to answer.

The ABD has established a new CertLink library that provides links to all the articles used to write Article-Based questions since the CertLink pilot started four years ago.

“These articles have been identified as significant and valuable in the field of dermatology. We’re delighted so many of our diplomates are interested in reading more of them,” says ABD Associate Executive Director for Continuing Certification, Stan Miller, MD.

The library is available when you open the CertLink platform. On the left-hand side of the CertLink dashboard, click “RESOURCES” and then select the ABD Article Library. Choose any of the topic areas for a list of articles.  More than 220 articles are available.

Royal Society of Medicine Membership Discount for ABD Diplomates

In addition, many diplomates would like access to more journal articles than those used for CertLink, but not everyone has access through an academic institution. Knowing the value of life-long learning, the ABD has negotiated a discount for Royal Society of Medicine  (RSM) membership.

Services offered by the RSM include electronic access to thousands of medical journals and books. (Non-members may access the library, but full-text articles are available only to members.) The discounted price is approximately $325/year, depending on exchange rates. RSM membership also provides access to numerous webinars and receive monthly updates about events and announcements regarding dermatology and dermatology subspecialties you choose.

“This is a wonderful resource, especially for diplomates like me who are not affiliated with academic centers that offer institutional journal subscriptions,” Dr. Miller says. “We are grateful to the Royal Society of Medicine for providing membership access at this discounted rate.”

To get the discount, use this website address. Select “Overseas” from the dropdown list (“Select your product”), then use the code ABD15 at checkout.
