The American Board of Dermatology recognizes that many physicians already participate in quality improvement efforts in their local practice. The Multi-Specialty MOC Portfolio Approval Program (Portfolio Program) is an alternative pathway for healthcare organizations that support physician involvement in quality improvement and MOC to have their quality improvement efforts be approved for MOC Part IV credit. To find out more about the Portfolio Program, visit www.mocportfolioprogram.org.
Notice:
As of December 31, 2012 the Board will reinstate the requirement for patient and peer surveys to adhere to the standard guideline and be pre-approved for use in MOC. We were provided a small window in which to review patient and peer surveys submitted by our diplomates for use to fulfill their MOC requirements. We needed to do this to allow diplomates to fulfill their requirements and we wanted to aid that process as much as possible. We are now required to use only ABMS approved instruments.
A link to the pre-approved survey providers is accessible on the MOC resource list. If you are affiliated with one of these providers you can utilize their approved surveys. Please ensure that the office information in your American Board of Dermatology personal profile reflects the institution sponsoring the survey you have completed.
